For many months now I, along with a team of extremely kind volunteers, have been working on an eight volume collection of articles, essays, and book chapters by Southern Baptist theologian James Leo Garrett, Jr. written from 1950 to 2015. I was thrilled yesterday to receive proofs from the publisher and it led me to think that I should post a bit of an update on the project for those who are interested.
Basically, I will give the manuscript one more reading, make final corrections, then sign off on it a couple of weeks from now. Next, I will finalize the three indexes for the volume (scripture, subject, and name). On the publisher’s part, they will do cover design and finalize the volume itself. I hope it will be available by January or February of next year, but I have my fingers crossed that it might be out before Christmas of this year. We’ll see!
Finally, well sorta. Nothing much is final in this world but we are happy for you that soon completion will be had and we get MORE of our Wymanator back …..we miss the more sane version when your not so insanely busy with a 1,000 things and mass quantities of book reading and/or creating. Congratulations to the team and the finished works of one of your mentors. Its a hard job but somebody needed to do it; just like Wyman to say yes and plunge in……..reminds me of a Jewish Rabbi who said yes and plunged forward come what may……..the finished work is ALWAYS costly but immensely rewarding.
Hallelujah, He did his part and Wyman did his. We rejoice with thee!!!!!!!
Ha! Thank you John! Hope you are well!
